Project Director
Christal M. Albrecht, Ed.D., serves as the Project Director of MSFCP (Money Smart Financial Coaching Program). Funded by JPMorgan Chase, MSFCP provides financial coaching services to college students. Prior to joining MSFCP, Dr. Albrecht served as president of Alvin Community College from May 2014 until her retirement on August 31, 2021. Before joining ACC, she was campus president of Florida State College at Jacksonville’s Downtown Campus and Kent Campus (2011-2014) and president at Pima Community College’s-Desert Vista Campus (2008-2011). She served as the inaugural vice president of Student Learning at Lone Star College-Cy Fair, the largest campus of the Lone Star College district (2001-2008).
Dr. Albrecht received a Doctorate Degree in Allied Health Education and Administration from the University of Houston; a master’s degree in medical technology and laboratory science from Norwich University and a bachelor’s degree in medical technology from Utica College-Syracuse University. She is also a proud community college graduate, having completed an associate’s degree from SUNY Jefferson Community College in northern New York state.
Dr. Albrecht is a past president of the National Council for Workforce Education and a former board member of the American Association of Community Colleges. She has served on numerous taskforces, committees and commissions for various state, regional and national organizations.
